In Loving Memory...

In Memoriam.

Dr. Laur and Dr. Persia, a husband and wife veterinary team, founded Arborview Veterinary Clinic together in 1994. Over the years they have met many wonderful clients and have enjoyed caring for their pets. Many clients can attest to having long conversations in the exam room with Dr. Laur especially, and inevitably became great friends with him. On Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the age of 64, Dr. Laur passed away.

Dr. Laur was born March 24, 1959 to Duane and Ruth (O’Neill) Laur in Marlette, MI.  He grew up in North Branch on the family farm, graduating from North Branch High School with the class of 1977.  He attended Michigan State University, graduating with Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry in 1981 and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.

Dr. Laur was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and role model. He was an extremely hard working and dedicated veterinarian who cared for animals until his last week on earth. He would not have had it any other way. He loved serving his community as a veterinarian for the last 37 years. He was an avid collector of John Deere tractors, both toy and full size. He was also a devoted Michigan State sports fan and collector. He was an active member of the North Branch First United Methodist Church including being chairman of the Administration Board and Lay Leader.

He was an incredibly skilled surgeon and had a special knack for treating dermatological issues in pets. He also never shied away from internal medicine cases that were tough to crack.

He is missed by many, including staff, clients and pets. His legacy lives on through Arborview Veterinary Clinic and he was no doubt greeted by many pets in heaven.
